A brand new New Zealand hop variety! A high alpha hop with distinctive tropical, grapefruit and passion fruit characters. Moutere™ is a big hop delivering high alpha acid with a generous weight of oil while its lower cohumulone provides a soft well-structured but solid bitterness. A triploid variety bred from Southern Cross and a New Zealand male, Moutere™ was originally released in 2015.
Given its outsized personality, Moutere™ is a big hop for big IPAs, but its tropical flavors are also great for mixed-culture fermentations, wheat beers, and fruited hoppy styles.
