The Tilt™ allows you to wirelessly monitor your brew's specific gravity and temperature on your smartphone or tablet!
Our goal is to help homebrewers brew better beer. The Tilt allows you to test the specific gravity and temperature of your beer while it's fermenting, without ever having to open your fermenter or pour out any of your precious brew. This makes brewing more consistent and easy to track.
Here are some of the Tilt's new features!
- When waking up the Tilt, the light will either flash green indicating the battery is good for another brew or red, indicating it's time to change your battery.
- After you change your battery, the Tilt will flash purple, indicating it's ready for a tare in water. Simply place the Tilt in still room temperature water for several minutes. You will see blue flashes as it takes measurements and calibrates to 1.000. If you would prefer not to tare, you can alternatively place the Tilt in the vertical position for 60 seconds to sleep and cancel the tare.
- Larger o-ring for a tighter seal and it makes it easier to remove the cap for battery changes.
- The new app has a Celsius or Fahrenheit option in the settings menu. All the other previous features are still in the app.
The Tilt team includes Noah Neibaron and Marcus Owens. Each individual brings something unique to the project but all share a passion for technology and craft beer. The result of these passions is the Tilt hydrometer and thermometer. Noah Neibaron (CEO) is the co-inventor of the Tilt Hydrometer and has a background in biotech and home brewing. Marcus Owens (COO) has a background in sales, manufacturing and marketing.
